Dental Implants

If you have missing or heavily damaged teeth that need to be replaced, dental implants are the right solution for you.

Dental implants are a secure and a lifelong solution to missing teeth. A surgical grade titanium implant screw is used to replace the tooth root and is surgically placed in the jaw. The implant fuses with jaw bone and serves as an anchor for a crown or other prosthesis .Then, an abutment is screwed into the implant and the prosthetic crown is attached either by a screw or dental cement to finish your permanent replacement tooth.

An implant looks and functions like a natural tooth. Dental implants are also used as a strong foundation for implant-retained or implant-supported dentures and bridges.

We offer the following dental implants procedures at Geetha Dental Clinic:

Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery

At Geetha Dental Clinic, the most common oral surgery procedures we do are:
Tooth extractions:
Tooth extractions are routine dental procedures performed at Geetha Dental Clinic to remove decayed, severely damaged tooth or the tooth which cannot be saved through any other alternative like filling or other restorative treatments in dentistry. Usually normal extractions are done under local anesthesia and they may be replaced by dental implant or prosthesis like dental bridge.

Wisdom teeth removal:
Wisdom teeth or Third molars are the last teeth to emerge between the age of 18 to 32. If wisdom teeth grow properly in alignment with the existing teeth, they can be left untreated. In majority situations, they can become stuck underneath gum line, resulting in “Impacted Wisdom Teeth”, leading to gum infection, severe pain, restricted opening of mouth and swelling.

Alveloplasty:
To improve fit of dentures,Our oral surgeon at Geetha Dental clinic, will correct some irregularities in the gums and underlying bone to make sure the denture fit comfortably in your mouth by filling through bone grafts and corrective surgeries like alveoloplasty or alveolectomy.

Temparomandibular joint pain:
Some people may experience temparomandibular joint (jaw joint) pain reasons may be because of missing teeth, morphological changes in the joint, severe worn out teeth, trauma to the joint or jaw. So, a systematic and comprehensive treatment of underlying cause and the joint will relieve the pain.

Tumor and cyst of jaw:
Cyst and tumor may develop in the jaw bone, soft tissue and around the teeth. So, excision, enucleation and reconstruction of the area may be required and it’s carried out in our facility.

Orthognathic surgery (Cosmetic jaw surgery):
In cases of disproportionate jaw size and position along with uneven teeth may affect the facial appearance. So, correction with treatment is required for functional and esthetic outcomes. So, a systematic planning and execution is carried out at our clinic for this condition.

Gum Surgery

Dental scaling helps in reducing the pockets that develop between the tooth and the gums. Everyone should undergo scaling at regular intervals for preserving gum and dental health. This helps in preservation of bone and decreases the risk of developing periodontal diseases gum inflammation, tooth caries between two teeth and tooth discolouration.

Scaling is a relatively painless procedure. However, some discomfort may be experienced when the plaque is too deep seated within the gums or if the person is undergoing the procedure for the first time. People who have excessive tooth sensitivity too might face some sensation, but it's mild discomfort, not pain.

Gum surgery may be necessary for anyone who is suffering from gum disease. This is a common and very serious condition. ... If the gingivitis is minor in nature, it may be possible to heal the gums by simply performing a cleaning. If the gum disease is left untreated, it may be necessary to schedule surgery.

The procedure involves lifting the gums off of the teeth to remove tartar buildup. After the surgeon has cleaned the area and removed the tartar, they will stitch the gums into place to fit around the teeth. Sometimes, the bone may require reshaping during this procedure.

Procedures involving Gums are
1. Scaling and Polishing.
2. Subgingival scaling and Root Planing.
3. Frenectomy.
4. Depigmentation.
